For this project, the Lemanski team met the challenge of a project that grew from the client’s original request for a small addition/kitchen renovation to the creation of a master bedroom suite that included installing a cantilever structure on the home’s second floor. The Lemanski team worked with an architect, an interior designer, and the home owner to renovate the kitchen and master bedroom, and to improve the overall “flow” of the first floor which originally required walking around the perimeter of the house to get from one end of the home to the other. And, using an innovative step to minimize impact on backyard and driveway space, the architect designed a cantilever for the second-floor master bedroom addition that the Lemanski team constructed. The second-floor construction also involved the removal of two mismatched third-floor dormers and the creation of a single dormer that enabled the Lemanski team to install a new staircase. When the project was complete, one aspect of the renovation that the clients were particularly excited about was an “eyebrow window” that was installed to maximize natural light in the renovated master bedroom.
